Exclamation If I get longtube headers how do I delete EGR?

I suppose the title is self explanatory. I'm looking for headers for my Lt1 formula. I'm looking at some BBK shortys that will accommodate the EGR but if I get longtubes instead, what do I have to do? Thanks everyone!

block off plate. thats it. if you dont want it to have a check engine light then u need to get a tune and have it tuned out. also when u get the tune its a good time to just have it tuned for all your bolt ons and anything you might have done to the car

If you buy long tubes without the emissions fittings then all you would need is the block off plates for the egr and metal tube behind the intake. Also you should have your computer tuned after deleting those things so the computer won't throw any trouble codes. You can find the block off plates on ebay or I believe one of the sponsors here.

Really? I'm wondering the same just because no emission headers are cheaper. Aren't there like block off plate sets? I think i've seen them. What actual work do you have to do? Just install the plates? If so good freaking bye emissions.

Yeah the little one is for the passenger side manifold or headers with emissions.

Just get the non emissions LT's and you can remove all that tubing, the AIR pump, and EGR crap.

If you dont have to worry about emission testing then just go with longtubes without emissions(race style.) Youll need the blockoff plates and two o2 extensions.

Good freaking bye emissions. The only testing done here is the obd2 scan. No sniffer no visual so I should be good with a tune yes?

Another question. Is the erg the only thing you have to delete with long tubes with
No emissions?

Good thread I'm buying long headers for my vette.

Does anyone have a pic of the egr + air hoses that will be deleted ?

I want to get rid of them , I just changed the spark plugs and damn the egr tubes bogged me out.

a pic? you have a real grand sport? cause i dont believe they came with an egr system... lt4s had it deleted already..

and they are just on the back of the manifold... big circular ufo looking thing with a hose attached to it... then just to the side of it towards the passenger is a metal tube that goes from into to the exhaust manifold

Not that i've ever seen but yes it's nice to get rid of some weight and the clutter of the AIR system.

And the AIR system also cuz they race headers don't have ports for the AIR tubes to hook up to.

All you need to do is remove the AIR pump that's located on the drivers side front of the motor next to your water pump (or on the frame rail if your car is a 93). Then disconnect any wires from it. Then just remove any rubber hose or pipe that is connected to it and your stock manifolds.

Then you will have to get a tune to clear the code for the AIR pump.
