Default abs inop & brake light...

And another i think but forget what one came on today when my car sat idling for about 2-3 minutes. I started my car, realized i forgot something in the house. Left it running for 2-3 minutes and when I came back out those lights were on. The brake light caught my eye first so i double checked my e brake wasn't set and it wasnt. Turned the car off then back on and haven't seen them since.

Car has everyone else stumped too? Did it again tonight don't know if it's related but my rear is shaking sometimes. I thought I had a flat tire but nope.

moisture in the sensor or one going bad can do this... maybe bad brake fluid, lots of copper/brass in the ABS block can mess it up over time.

How was the voltage at the time? Low voltage can cause the lights to act up.

???? Still doing it. No drop in voltage, how ever i did notice my odometer reset itself, don't know if it's related. But I turn the car off then on and it's fine. It seems pretty random. It's done it on start up and after it's been running. Where's this sensor?

abs sensors are on the hubs should see a hall effect ring and sensor, if you have an older style the rear will be in the axle housing.

also has a few connections in the engine bay.

If the light came on before you moved the car, it most likely isn't a wheel speed sensor. The BPMV does a power on self test. If it failed that test, it will turn on both of those lights. Or, the voltage like shbox said.

VOltage isn't dropping and it keeps happening more frequently
Had to turn the car on & off twice tonight on first start up to get it to go away.

What connections or sensor do i need to check & where are they/ what to google if no one is going to be specific ?

Don't know if it's related but my car seems to be having an electrical spazz attack sometimes. Like tonight I went to start it, turned over, fired and immediately died, no power or buzzing or anything with the key in on position? That's something shorting out right? HOW the F do i find that out?

Still sounds like a power issue. Ignition switch maybe.

So i'm stuck with hoping it's something small like that? Do I have to drop/remove the steering column to get to that?

Well, you should test to see if it is the problem before replacing something. It's hard for anyone to pinpoint an exact trouble over the internet. If the cluster goes dead, check at fuse panels to see if fuses with switched power are also dead when the key is ON. The connector at the switch can also get cranky from heat damage. There is a switch replacement "how to" on my website.
