so im putting my LT headers on. the driverside went in great, even went in from the top. now on the passingerside, i went to romove the dipstick and the housing broke off in the oil pan. i dont want to drop the pan, so does anyone have any advice? i even thought about just not putting it back on, i change my oil about 1500 to 2000 miles anyway and the car sits most of the time.

Define "housing"

It's just a tube with a ring and metal mounting bracket. Where exactly did you break it?

the tube where dipstick slides into, housing. it broke where it goes into the oil pan, so how ever much that slides into the pan broke off.

I would fix it. Your car may run fine now. But you never know when u need to check your oil. It may start burning oil or leaking and you need to know how much you've lost. It's just a critical piece of proper engine diagnostics. A place you don't want to skimp.

The dipstick tube does not go into the pan, it goes into the engine block.

If you can't get it out, you're going to have to drop the pan and try and punch it out from the bottom.

Perhaps you can get a magnet into the drain hole and fish it around/out. If not, the pan must be dropped.

The tube is flared how did it break off into the pan? Get a flat head screw driver and push any lip there maybe into the center and then grab it sideways with a set of vise grips. Use the block as leverage and it should pop right out. Or if it broke after the flare and is now flush with the block get a punch and push it into the pan then fish it out with a hanger or magnet.
