Default Want to completely change direction with my car...

I want a 6 speed and I want to autoX.

I've invested a lot in my car and the way it is is great. It would be nearly perfect with a 6 speed...

Should I look into a swap or start over completely by selling and buying a stock 6 speed?

Do the swap. Screw starting over. Unless you are unhappy with your current setup I would keep the car.

It is not really that hard to do the swap. I have done one and it was pretty straight forward. LOTS of information out there on the swap itself and I am sure there are people on here willing to help as well, myself included. It all depends on whether you want to spend the time and do the work. I think you may regret selling it, no?

Yes, but I'd quickly get over it rowing through gears around corners...

Plus I have 3 silver vehicles at my house. I really hate silver now.

A local guy has a writeup with pics, I guess my big concern is getting the parts together. Other than that I'm ALL ABOUT doing the swap myself.

But there's that. Then the paint, then the rear seat and carpet, then the dash. After all that I'd be set... but for that $$ I could have gotten a clean 6 speed and not had the hassle...

I hate cars.

I used to. Now it's so bland. Three cars all silver sucks. I need a black or a red to shake things up. Maybe a blue.

Did the swap to my stock formula when i bought it as a A4/2.73 tank to a M6/4.10 and it was by far the best money i could have ever spent on my car to date. Not that hard and again the info is out there to do it i had a writeup from probubly 5-6 years ago i was using. Had step by step everything that you needed to know so when i got out there to do it is like butter.

I won't do that swap into this car, and I don't know of any LS car I would want other than a C6. And that can't happen if I'm already looking to upgrade the truck.

A Z51 would be awesome...

Why not an LS Trans AM? They're nicer in every way than 93-97

A C5 Z06 is the ultimate GM Auto X weapon

I don't want another 4th gen. If I was to stay in one, I'd stay with the one I've got. No interest in an LS f-body.

I'm actually starting to think about a 6 speed GTO. I know they aren't the greatest autoX but I don't think I'd ever get TOO serious into it anyway.

LS1 4th gens are too expensive and aren't much of an improvement over what you already have.

If you want a drastic increase in performance and handling go for a V8 swapped FB RX7. They're 2,300-2,500 lbs and extremely agile... makes any F-body look like a cow.
