Default Only have 30 miles on new engine. Too soon for dyno?

Been tryin to put more miles on the engine, get the new engine broken in but this bad weather has been a problem and I've only logged on 30 miles so far.

It's been heat cycled and the 2nd oil change as been done but is it too soon for the dyno session on Monday? I forgot to ask Brain from Kaltech about this.

Once the rings are seated with a few heat cycles and medium-heavy throttle pulls, it's not going to get any more broken in. I say go for it.

If you have heat cycled everything a few times and no leaks/odd noises, then give it hell. I would change the oil after you get it tuned.

I have a small oil pan leak in the back. Some burning smells here and there, probably from the new clutch and headers. But other than that, crossing fingers, so far so good. I have nothing to compare it to but the hawk runs so strong that it freaks me out.

Like stated once the breakin is done and you have done some street pulls to make sure it all holds together then go for it. I would do several 3rd gear pulls on a safe street with it if your a M6 or 2nd gear pulls if an auto to make sure you have no leaks in the motor or the exhaust. Shake it down. fix the problems so the dyno is nice and easy with no broken parts on the dyno esecially if your planning on having them refine the tune. check that exhaust!!! cant tell you how many times I see people go to the dyno with a small exhaust leak that throws off the primary O2's to the PCM.

Check oil
Check for leaks
Check coolant
Strap it to the wheel and see you combo work!

Only thing different I'd do is change the oil immediately after the dyno pulls.

Mine hit the dyno with less then 20 miles on it. I think as long as youve let it heat cycled youll be fine.

no issue once so ever...proper procedures will break the rings in within the first 20 minutes......change the oil after.....my motor ran for 30 minutes driving around then went straight to the dyno and was spun 8000+rpm

My motor saw WOT within the first 15 miles. I asked my builder about break in, he said once it hit operating temperature and if its not making any weird noises go beat on it. I drove about 10 minutes, checked for leaks. Another 5 minutes checked for leaks again. That time was on a hardly traveled straight road, hit about 115mph and called it a day.
