Default oil pressure sensor elbow leak

how the hell do u get this thing to stop leaking? iv had this happen on 2 motors. i take the intake off, put it back on without touching the oil pressure sensor, and it starts leaking. last time this happened, i tightened the **** out of it. for some reason, thats not working this time. its the elbow that goes into the block.

Did you use a thread sealant?

**** teflon tape. Use paste or a thread sealant of your choice.

I'm dealing with the same thing it seems...was it one of the fittings leaking or the sensor itself where it screws into the fitting?

Thanks....I have the same issue...that fitting is loose; I can loosen/tighten it left or right by pulling/pushing on on the oil pressure sensor. Did you have to pull the intake to remove the fitting in the block? Seems pretty hard to access tucked way back there

Not for nothing, that fitting you are speaking of is awfully close to the rear of the intake manifold where many-an-LT1 have had oil leaks before. Be sure that it is the fitting that is leaking and not where the rear of the intake seals to the rear of the block.

Oh I'm 90% sure...we pulled the intake and reset it TWICE last weekend LMAO....second time was the charm (I accidentally touched the RTV bead like a newb the first attempt ), I can't feel any oil on the back of the intake BUT the fittings are coated in fresh oil...they must have been bumped with all the messing around back there because they are too easy to move around back and forth. It's a dripping leak....not a seeping leak.

I would definitely pull the sensor and the angle fittings completely out of there. It is just a standard 1/4" pipe thread. Get a good look at the hole and threads. Check for scoring, wear or any other issues. Then reassemble, should be tight enough not to leak but not tight enough to break. I go by "hand tight and then a little bit more".

Hi ElkySS, had a quick question for u on that 2.8L Chevy Celebrity (runs then dies). I got a nephew-in-law who just dumped the same thing in my lap, and i consequently changed the EXACT SAME parts as u did. did u ever figure out what was causing the problem?
