Default LT install is giving me nothing but issues

As the title implies, I'm installing ebay headers on my car, and I've been having nothing but trouble.
1. Oil filter isn't clearing the driver side header, is there a smaller filter I can use?
2. Oil dipstick tube won't go back in, I guess I have to order a flexible one and plug the hole for the time being.
3. Driver side motor mount bolts won't thread back in, and they aren't stripped.

Those are the major problems...anyone got any suggestions? This has been going on for 4 days now.

Maybe you need the BFH mod on your shiny new headers From what I've heard you get what you pay for with ebay headers in regards to installation/fitment issues. Most have problems, some don't. You could always return them and get some pacesetters.

First of all , each and every set have their own issues,Have you removed the oilcooler yet?( the part sandwiched between the filter and the block)if not then do so as you don't need it and they won't fit with it there.. Have you tried loosening both mounts getting them together, then tightening them down? did you replace your old *** motor mounts while you were there? And as for the dip tube.. You just need to line it up properly.. The exaust touches it but won't cause you to not be able to reuse

I know they all have their issues. Sounds like I'll just delete the oil cooler

That's what I figured.. Get rid of it, plug up where It goes to radiator and ect ..you will need to grind down the screws that attaches it or get two new grade 8 screws to reattach the filter mount.

Only thing the oil cooler was good for was making motor fluid milkshakes.

Can I delete the cooler without spilling coolant all over the place? Sorry if that's a dumb question, I see a rubber hose coming from the water pump, and one from the radiator, is there a way to connect these two?

Yes on connecting them ... Just need to get some hose and a double barbed hose joiner and some hose clamps.. If your quick and prepared you will spill minimal coolant.. Replace it though

Truthfully none of your issues have anything to do with the headers themselves, so that's good.

The oil dipstick is always tough to get back in. Take out the tube and LIGHTLY sand the tube down with a fine grit sandpaper. It will eventually go back in. Just be very cautious not to sand down too much or else you'll develop leaks. It should be snug - no looser than that.

yea the dipsitck you are going to ahve to bend up a bit to make fit around the tubes........the oil filter that kina sucks but a ph30 fram or equalivent should make it fit.....and the motor mount bolts.......why did you pull em out??

I'm going to order a flexible dipstick tube from summit. As for the motor mounts it made it easier to get both headers in, I did one side at a time, I got the bolts on the passenger side in pretty easy, the driver side bolts are just having a hard time threading, and I don't want to strip.
I will look into getting a smaller oil filter, if that doesn't work I'll just remove the oil cooler.

I appreciate the help

Get rid of the oil cooler it can cause issues mixing fluids, GM did away with it, everyone deletes it.

^ True.. It's the easiest thing... Now more so since your already down there. You'll probably end up doing it eventually, and if not you may or may not have worse problems then filter size. The risk is all yours!

It may not feel worth it at first, but the more mods you do, the more the LTs are needed to support those mods. Plus you're not getting the full potential out of them without a tune. Get a tune and you'll be happier.

Wipe all your prints off before you heat'em up or they'll be there forever, tighten them again once they cool .
