stall question

stall question
Is a 3,000 stall to big for a small cam lt1 car. cam is a comp cam xfi 268. its my cousin car and he will be adding 3.73 later and long tube headers.

Short answer, no. anything higher then stock is better.
Long answer, if anything its going to be too small. A converter is one of the biggest bolt on gains you can see with an auto car. And again, don't cheep out on the converter, a cheep converter with be awful to drive and wont perform like a high end stall will. Most high quality street converters anrt overly noticeable while normal driving, but you sure as hell know its there when you boot it.
I'm sure other people will chime in about cheep stalls, and other things.
Just my .02, take with salt.

In the Yank SS series, the SS3600 is the MINIMUM I would put behind that XFI268 cam.
I ran the SS3600 behind the stock cam in my Impala, and that is a 192 intake duration as opposed to the F/Y-body stock cam's ~203 duration. It was great for daily driving and is totally coupled up at the higher rpm's compared to the cheaper TC's

i have heard nothing but good things when it comes to the ss3600. but if you want further opinion most TC companys have a form on their website you can fill out and email to them and they will give you their reccomendations.
