New motor is a 383 solid roller , a.f.r heads , edelbrock victor intake , nitous etc . I have a m.s.d opti and ign box but new motor I'm gonna spool past 7k and I honestly don't want the opti esp when I can tune cyl /cyl with either setup . It's also a 4 k stalled 4l60e in for now as I'm building a 4l80 with a Jakes trans brake and manual valve body for it

I would rather have LS ignition than Mega squirt. If I were going to a pure after market solution, there are several things out there which are light years ahead of MS.

If you do it on the cheap, I vote LS ignition + EFI Live.

If you want to shell out for something after market that's plug n play. I would check out Fast 2.0 or Holly dominator .

i like my megasquirt. it was about $1500 cheaper and it makes my injectors squirt fuel.
