Default Trickflow 21 rocker questions

Can anybody tell me what rockers to order? I want 1.6s, narrow body. I read their were some issues with the self aligning rockers (causing the pushrods to rub). The 430hp top end kit doesn't use self aligning rockers.
However when I contacted trickflow they told me to use self aligning rockers... can somebody clarify?

Follow manufacturer's recommendation and avoid speculation/rumors. Remember though, at high rpm, stablizing the valvetrain to avoid flexing is important to good power and precise timing. Stepping up to better rockers, studs, girdles,..etc, is good insurance!

Why do you want SA rockers to begin with? Doesn't make sense when you're buying new.

My Crower self aligning rockers never made my pushrods rub. Been beating them hard for 12 years. Still good as new.

I don't want SA rockers. Trickflow's technician suggested using them. In the heads/cam top end kit they come with non SA rockers and I've read the SA rubbed. That's why I asked.

Originally it had them on there. I have no issue buying another set of guide plates or running non self aligners but I am hung up on the trickflow tech suggesting self aligners

Dude that tech likely has never actually done anything himself
They hire any phone jockey they can find. You're probably the dude who takes the summit tech line as gospel as well? Lol

Just use NSA rockers, they are better regardless of what your trickflow home brah told you.

I have the everything except for the guide plates. Are trickflow's rockers any good? Otherwise pick a 1.6 for me.

Edit:
I'm actually trying to replicate your old 355.

Alright. I didn't order them yet. I'm trying to run right around the same build as you but my bottom end is being built to handle a 150-250 shot. I actually just got done ordering callies compstar rods.

When I was running those heads I used 7/16s NSA Comp Ultra Pro Mags with guide plates and ARP studs and had 0 issues.

The trick flows were great but I sold the car due to smog reasons and I refused to put stock cats and all that junk on that 383. California sucks

Both of our LT-1 head offerings are shipped with guide plates included. We do not recommend using self aligning rocker arms. If you did not recieve guide plates with the heads, contact the dealer you purchased them from or call our tech line @ 330-630-1555.

As I told you through email it depends on the valve covers you are using. If your valve covers will clear the standard body rocker use them with the guide plates. If they will not use the narrow body rockers.
