Default Quick Question Cantons 60-205

Just got these for christmas, there the ones without the notch for the alternator on the pass side. But I just noticed there is a hole on each valve cover. I just wanted to confirm I would be able to put a breather on each side and cap off the old pcv line from the TB. Is this possible? Dont really want to get the the driver side hole filled or have to return it....Also dont really want to set up some fancy pcv vent stuff.

Thanks for the help

So that hose that runs from the cover to the throttle body isn't necessary? Can u just put a breather on it?

That's the pcv hose. You do not need to run it. Take off your rubber intake elbow and look at how dirty your tb blades are. They get dirty from inhaling all of the vapor from the pcv hose.

Old argument, lots of opinions both ways. This is just the Crankcase Ventilation (CCV) setup. It pulls air from the valve/rocker cover into the throttle body to pull vapors out of the crankcase. Some put a catch can here between the OEM fitting on the cover and TB to pull off oil that sometimes goes into the TB. Some Argue that you're opening a closed system and creating a problem by just slapping a breather on it. My Cantons have the notch, with the oil fill on the pass. side. You could just as easily put your oil fill cover on the driver's side and use a baffled breather and tube on the pass. side. I use a Mr Gasket 2054 breather that retains the CCV tube to the TB with a Mr Gasket 5425 1.22" baffled grommet with it. Works well with 2 baffles against the oil creeping into the tube/TB. If you want the clean look, just go with breathers...

Thanks for the help guys. Probably gonna go with 2 breathers to keep it clean unless anyone can convince me otherwise.

If you are still running a MAF and the PCV valve in the intake manifold, deleting the CCV fresh air hose on the passenger valve cover will cause "false air" to get around the MAF thru the PCV valve in the intake manifold. It will cause fuel trims a bit out of whack at idle. Nothing crazy, just be aware.

05HD-Thanks for the info thats pretty much what i was worried about. Hopefully it wont be that bad that I will have to switch back to the normal pcv setup. Car isnt tuned yet either which will be coming soon after it is finished.
