Mac catback
Hey everyone, i am doing the 503 cam, and i found some mac headers. I also found that the lt1 loudmouth is discontinued. The Mac catback is still available for 299 shipped. They say 18 rwh, i have the flowmaster 80 series and i know its a choke point. My question is. Is anyone running the mac catback? How does it sound with a lumy cam? And is it worth the gain? Thanks

Just the 80 series mufler. Its gotta flow better than stock. But mac says 18 horse to the ground but that is probably over stock. So i gotta say mac could give me 10 over the 80 series mufler. But i want that lumpy growl without the continuos drone inside.

i had the MAC catback on my 95 z28. Not a bad setup at all, i cant really tell you about performance gains but with just a catback and CAI my 95 went 13.6 @ 101 consistently
I ended up swapping it out for a stainless magnaflow setup with 3" e-cutout, mainly for looks and cause i wanted to be loud
heres a quick vid of my car with the mac catback with Pacesetter LTs and ORY

That and a lumpy cam would sound really good thanks. Are u using the modified corvette fuel rail covers. Looks good! I tried it once and made a wrong cut and could never get it to look right, what kind of template did u use?

I've got a flowmaster with the stock cat back and I have a manual cutout in place of the cat. At the track I only see a 1 mph difference between the two but that was before I did a cam change this winter.
You could keep the good sounding Flowmaster and add a e-cutout after the Mac header y-pipe and get better performance than the Mac catback for less money.

True, i do get alot of compliments on the way the car sounds. And i like the agressive tone of the loudmouth. Sometimes i just feel like i need a change, flowmaster has been on the car 5 years. I wish they made a super 40 for our 1 in 2 out design. I hear alot of fricken mustangs with there aftermarket agressive catback and they think it just made them just so much faster wow lol bullsh@t, and they all sound the same too.
