Default Coolant Sensor light came on.

My cooling light sensor on the dash came on and I'm pretty sure its a gummed up sensor in the radiator cause coolant level is fine. Where's it located because I can pull it out and clean it etc..anybody got a pic of where's it located? thanks

Yep until youre able to get to it, you can make sure your fluid level is good and unplug the sensor, the light will go away.

Does the light always stay on or did it come on and freak you out once? Any work done on the car recently

Mine came on over the winter, checked the coolant, perfect, light still on, pulled the plug from the sensor.

My has been on for a year or so, just getting tired of looking at it. you mean you can just unplug it or is there a sensor going inside that might be cleaned and then the light will go off?

There is a sensor, but you could unplug the wire going to the sensor that keeps the light on on the dash. That's what I did because I can't stand lights showing on the dash. Or you could replace the sensor or try and clean it. If you looking at the radiator from the front of the car, it will be to your left side just behind the filler cap. Well, at least that's where it's at on LS1's...

I never had any luck with aftermaket low coolant sensors. My stock one died after 16 years, the replacements also didn't work for me. I bought a stock radiator after my plastic cracked on mine, it came with a stock sensor and it works just fine.

Mine kept going on and off randomly during the winter. I took it out and cleaned the metal pin on the sensor with a q-tip...has not came on since.
