Default LT1 383 valvetrain problems FIXXED THANKS EVERYONE THAT HELPED

hello lt1 members.just another lt1 problem thread.had the car parked for 2 days if it matters.,started her up in the morning.idle is a bit diffrent i let her warm up.go out on my way and the car drives with no problems.when i get home i pop open the hood and hear a sqeeky like noise .im thinking its probly a pully.nope its comming from the drivers side valvetrain :/..the car is about 1 quart low on oil..if it matters.at idle its pretty calm.as u keep revving slowly the squeek keeps increasing .its not a tick like noise.more like a sqeek.any ideas what it could be ,i was told mabe i just need to adjust the rollerockers.any input appricatied .thank you have a nice day

maybe a roller lifter? Maybe a pushrod yip? is there oil coming up through all the pushrods? I would check all the tips and adjust. If that doesnt cure it then I would look into the lifters.

Post a video of the sound for starters. A visual/audio reference will be far more effective at helping us determine your problem far better than typing ever could.

Also, what are your mods, specifically? Like valve springs, rockers, cam choice, timing chain, oil system, etc. How many miles on this "build"? Any problems before or recent engine work? Gotta know these things as well.

When you mean one quart low, do you mean below the ADD mark on the dipstick? Or (hopefully) you mean it's at the ADD mark? Hopefully you know better than that...!

A squeak means no oil. Not good. I would pull the valve covers and have a look at the topend before you fire the motor again.

The last time I heard a motor squeak it had a spun bearing. It was pretty loud though.

Agreed. Check your rockers to see if they are getting oil. Take your belt off, start up just to make sure it is not an accessory.

The last time I heard a squeek/tick noise like that, it was a flat spotted roller lifter. You'd have to pull the intake to get to that.
However, if that were your issue and you haven't re-adjusted the rockers, you may find a loose rocker on that pot when you pull the valve covers, IF it happens to be sitting on that flat spot on the roller.

Just a thought, Something like this happened to me a while ago.

Id do what everyone else is adjusting and pull a vale cover and see whats up. You really don't wanna drop a valve or something and wreck the new build....

You said it was a quart low on oil, I'm going to assume you topped the oil off, it sounds like a bad roller wheel on a lifter in which case you could also have a wiped cam lobe. And if that's the case the metal circulating thru the engine will wipe your bearings out. If it was me I'd stop starting/driving it immediatley and change the oil, look to see if it has anything shiney in it. Also as stated I'd pull the intake and check all of the lifters and cam lobes.
