92 and early model 93 Corvette LT1's had forged pink rods. I believe all other LT1's came with the powder metal rods.

I have torn down at least one 94 LT1 that had pink rods, I believe the change was either sometime in 94 or for 95.

Honestly for the price of rebuilding stock rods if piecing a new setup together I would just do an aftermarket Scat rod, maybe get something bushed and save the cost of pressing pistons to the rods.

It is one thing to reuse them if refreshing a stock shortblock, another to seek them out for a budget build and I would not bother for the later.

PM LTx rods are good to around 450rwhp. IF you want more than that Boosted you better get Better rods!!!

Honestly rod failures are more often tension failures than pressure failures, meaning rpm and piston weight have a LOT more to do with it than HP.

The "pink" rods were the factory high performance rod for a few decades before we had good reasonably priced aftermarket options. I would not split hairs over pink vs. PM rods for the LT1 because IMO you aren't going to find a performance difference, they are both decent rods. Honestly I might ask my local shop I planned on using for the resize if they had a preference. Because if you ask them and then have a problem they are going to be a lot nicer than if you bring them something they don't like and have them work on it and then have an issue. Should be noted too that the PM rods take a different ARP bolt, I don't have the PN handy but there is a PN just for the PM rods.

From the research I've seen on the net you are correct about the year groups. Thanks.
