Need help tuning my 350 Vortec with a LT4 Hot Cam
I have a 350 Vortec with a LT4 hot cam in my 2000 Blazer. I originally purchased a mail order tune(mistake) which gave me idle and power problems. I just purchased HP Tuners and am looking to tune the PCM tune myself. I have modded the stock harness with the LS1 computer and have the file I need for a stock 350 Vortec in a S10. I now need to figure out how to tune it for the cam. Can someone tell me where I can find some info (or a file for this cam) on this engine and cam setup?

get some data logs if you had efi live i could've sent you a modified file to get you close.......
increase idle to 750rpm
add 10% desired idle air across the table
force the pcm into Open loop SD mode and tune your VE table
put it back in MAF mode OL and tune maf table
then back into closed loop and have fun
may require a couple more degrees timing at idle.....rest should be decent will prob take a couple more at WOT
need 12.5-12.8 afr at WOT 13.0 lean limit
dont forget to disable dfco when you tune ur ve and maf tables........get a wb02 set up auto tune much easier
good luck!!!

It wouldn't let me purchase the license to tune my Blazer. I'm guessing it has something to do that it was tuned by someone else and it has an Express van tune on it. I emailed hptuners about it though. Anyway I'm a big noob to this so...
How do I force it into open loop?
What's a VE table?
How do I go about knowing where to start on the MAF table?
How do I do this?

I found out how to get it working. I need to reflash it with an 01 Express Van stock tune. I have an appt to do that on Friday.
That would be very helpful. What all info do you need from me?
if only you needed a .bin file i would build a tune for you..... almost all of this will be found in your parameters, fueling and spark

Change the Closed Loop Temp enable to max value so it will never reach the threshold temp
What's a VE table?
defines the engines ability in percentage to fill the cylinder with air at certain rpm and load values.....this is VERY important to have +-~3% accurate
How do I go about knowing where to start on the MAF table?
after ve table is close tune maf.....need to monitor hz value coming from maf at certain load values change the g/s value to match the afr you are targeting

I'm doing the same swap as well. I have a S10 Extreme that we put in a engine out of a 2500 silverado, i also did the 0411 swap, loaded a 2002 Express Van tune into the pcm, re linked the BCM truck starts up.
Issue im having is that the truck does not want to start unless you hold the gas peddle in to about 80%. When it runs the LTFT are all under -/+ 2.
The attached in EFI and HP, using HP to tune it any suggestions. It also has a cam in in, a comp @ .230, 230 I can get the exact in the am, but any suggestions to get it to start without the peddle would be appreciated.

Okay. Got the express tune loaded, but didn't really get a chance to tune it. Sunday I should be able to start on the tune. It's still not wanting to idle unless I hold the gas down or let it sit at around 200rpms for a little while. Also still doesn't have the power it should.

I've started on this and feel like a complete noob! On the idle speed, do I set everything to 750 to begin with?
I have no clue how to tune the VE table.
Help help help lol
