Default Rocker not centered

okay so i just got my car going and the front passenger side rocker ended up hitting the valve cover... i have pro mags 1.6 and canton valve covers. Now the rocker isnt lined up on the valve. The guide plate looked crooked so i fixed that and reinstalled both rockers for that cylinder. The rod isnt bent but the rocker does have a small chip on the bottom of the rocker where it seats against the stud and the stud has a little bit of rub marks where the chip is.. Im going to replace both rocker and stud. just curious if it could be something else besides the chip and rub mark making it off center? really sucks this happened but gotta fix it.

I'd pull the rocker stud and check the threaded boss in the head for cracks and the stud for straightness just to be safe also.

Do you have an overview picture of the rockers? SA rockers are ok for an engine that isnt going to see a whole lot of abuse. SA is the only way to go if your going to rev the engine like a bat outta hell!

Ok ok. This is the second best way I have found to align LTx rockers. Be uing them for 14 yers or so. They have to be tack welded once setup but I hae yet to gt a quieter valve train then this set wil give you.

Isky 200-AGP

That's the same way mine looked ... Went with the isky adj plates and a few hours of grinding and adjusting to get it just right and now they are perfectly inline

how many of your rockers looked like this? All the others are lined up perfect.

The Isky guide plates are the only ones that will center the rockers up assuming you do it correctly. It took me nearly eight hours but my rockers are spot on.

If the engine is on the stand it goes fairly fast(1-2hrs) If they are on the car it can be a PITA
