Out of the LT1 Game... New Project
Well as some of you know you made a post earlier this year i was going to resort to parting my fully built 94 t/a out this year and start on a new path. Loved the car but the more i modded it seemed the less i got to be able to drive the car. Loved the car but just seemed it was always one step forward two steps back all the time. Decided before the LT1 scene was totally done that i woauld try and part out the car and try and get as much back that i spent out of the car and so far ive been pretty successful.
Now that ive be able to recoup some money out of the car i started searching for a new project car. I always wanted to go for classic but never had the money at the time being a young buck and all. Original plan for the money i had was a really nice and solid second gen bird and looked quite a few but was never happy with them. A first gen was usually always out of the question due price tag but i got lucky on whim and found a real nice solid 1969 Firebird.
Two owner car and had full documentation of the car and the resto he took it through while hes had the car. Exterior was really nice not perfect but was a solid car throughout. Full new rear quarters, rockers, full passenger pan, patched drivers... wasnt bad, new front fenders, and had a solid frame rear trunk pan.
Its an orignal 4.1 inline 6 with powerglide but that will be changed out. Ill probubly resort to throwing in a 350sbc/700r4 as they are cheap to get some fun out of it and then start building up a FI setup with a t56.
Its already while and has a super clean blue interior which is another reason why i bought it. Got plans to make an easy 69 ta clone and eventually go pro-touring with it slowly.

The sbc/bbc setion right under this one would be a good place to start a thread for all of us to keep up with. Congrats on finding a clean unmolested 1st gen. I still kick myself for not buying a brown 67 Camaro 6 cyl /pg on the column...no console...fold down back seat when I had the chance. Similar condition to your Firebird and 2 grand. That was about 10 years ago now.

Yes if we all knew how 1st gen F-bodies were going to increase in value 10-15 years ago, maybe we could have invested in them instead of losing a killing in stocks / 401k plans.
I sent you a PM last night about your for sale threads. Not sure if it worked.

Congrats! Clean bird
i'll probly seeing you on the pro-touring forums.
Mine was originaly a sport coupe 350 but right now it's powered by a Chevy 307. I might go LT1 or LQ9
Pic below not mine but, this is the look I'm going for.
