Default 42lb injectors for heads/cam stock shortblock too big?

I'm picking up fek77s old 230/240 107.5 565/562 cam and either porting my own heads or picking up a ported set, compression wil be around 11.5-12:1 depending if I have the block decked, are 42s too big or should I get 30s? There's a set of 42s local to me for cheap.

Also, the ported set of heads I might get have 2.02/1.60 valves, how big is the valve relief in stock pistons? Will I have an issue?

There are arguments using too big of an injector can influence spray patterns and fuel will not atomize correctly. On that setup the max I would go is 36, but 30's would most likely be perfect. Are you having a shortblock built?

Here's pretty much my plan

But I'm gonna mill the heads 0.010 to get about 11.5:1, and possibly deck the block another 0.010 for 12:1.

Just bought the ported heads. 2.02/1.6 Manley valves, crane dual springs, hand ported. Same set I had and sold to the guy 2 years ago, they are very heavily ported.

^^^^^^^^Agreed^^^^^^^^

42LBs ain't gonna be a killer.....but it is overkill.

As a frame of reference or you, I use 42LBs on my solid roller 398ci with a 242/254 cam and ported AFR 210 heads. Heads flow 340+ CFM (I forget the exact figure) at .670" lift.

Ill keep my eyes peeled for 30s or 36s. I'd like to do 30s and turn up the fuel pressure for the argument that it helps atomization, hence why ls motors use higher pressure to start with.
