Default How much will shifting to soon hurt times

My car feels to be shifting early.. so I hooked up a aftermarket tach.. car shifting at 6000 but tune it's supposed be 6300. Le said idea shift point be 6300 rpm for cam.. is this hurting my times?

Yes, but how much really depends on what your hp/torque curves look like. Fall out of the power and it'll really suffer.

I was having traction issues with "last years engine" and spraying 150 shot on a stock bottom end. I was shifting WAAYY to early (scared to hurt it) and it would only ET with the stock + bolt ons LS cars. Oh yea, I was a H/C/I, headers, and N2O LT1. My MPH was higher, but if you can't ET no one cares...

When I checked it out with the old cam, 1-2 shift was 6000. 2-3 was coming in at 5750.

Last night I run both computers I had both run close to same mph.. one was tuned for cc305 shift points at 6000.. mph was 108.44.. other is tuned for le custom cam. Shiftpoint supposed be 6300. Mph was 108.63.. so tune sucks

As long as your not falling too far out of your torque band after the shift is made I think you'll be fine. As long as you shift 200-300rpm past peak power your fine.
