The billet block allows for large bores. It has 4.125 bores to unshroud the heads and .450 longer sleeves for the larger stroke that’s planned. This motor has a 9.150 deck height, factory oil bosses, stock cam height, cam bore size, stock lifter bores and full water jackets.

Looks awesome! As it's a billet block, can it be had to accept LS heads like the World Motown LS hybrid block?

You guys act like Jeff green didn't already make 2 4.155 bore 9.125 bore Donovan aluminum blocks a decade plus ago. He sold off the second and I don't think we ever heard what happened to it after that.

It would be pretty neat, eh? I consider cooling the heads first an advantage and something GM should've done on the LS engines.

Ellwein had one in his shop for rebuild a few months back, but those things were a decade ago....the LT1 crowd doesn't remember that far back.

Someone doing a billet "LT1" in 2014 is pretty cool.

This isn't a converted Donovan frankenstien block, this is a custom from scratch billet block.

Being billet means expensive as ****, waaayyyy more then the ~$2.5k dart block would have been. Would love to see what he spent.

I get it is a billet not a modified cast aluminum gen 1 or one of the bowtie, blocks.

My point was more that there are a handful of big bore LT1s in existence.

Did anyone figure out who is casting these blocks? Cause obviously someone has the specs from the GM block.

It's not a casting, it's carved by a CNC machine from a solid block of aluminum.

Almost all the block specs are the same as a Gen I small block engine with the front of the case being different to accommodate the LT1 water pump and drive gear. Any stock LT1 block would give a CNC shop the needed measurements.

So what do you guys think, $10,000.00 for one of these blocks?

Any new CNC machine will be able to accept a block, digitize it with a CMM and then recreate that over and over. No need to have a GM spec sheet.

It only exists if you've got the cabbage. None of us in the "typical" owner scenario with a little extra play money could ever think about a motor like this. Kudoz to this that can and please do well with it

I just hope that we can see this engine run! That would be a sight, and sound to witness.
