1st Gear should be held out a little bit longer than the others to keep your rpms from dropping too far out of your torque band because of the wide gear ratio between 1st and second. It would depend on how far the rod bolts will hold the motor to without stretching. The power band really would determine the optimum shift point. A graph would be helpful.

With a power peak of 6150, it would want a 1-2 shift about 6700 and a 2-3 about 6600 for best ET's. So adjust accordingly depending on how lucky you feel about your rod bolts and the condition of your rod bearings.

You are leaving some time on the table with 5900 shift points. I shifted at 6300 with a similar cam peaking at 6100 since that was as far as I was willing to take the tired old short block in the Z.

A good rule of thumb is to start around 500rpm after peak and adjust up or down from there.

I have the same cam and shift at 6300. Would have gone a bit higher but I needed to keep the stock bottom end alive for a bit. I had a revmax 3400 stall with the same set up before swapping to M6.

How was the power down low?
