Default 94 lt1 Trans Am 217k

Hello fello f-body enthusiasts, I've got a 1994 trans am lt1 approaching 218k on the engine. I just finished replacing the oil soaked opti spark and the water pump of course too so I'm probably going to scrap the piece of s$&t opti and bolt on the LTCC coil conversion offered by Bailey enginering. (Anybody have experience with the kit?) anyways I've got a bit of noticeable valve lash, #8 exhaust valve I belive, I haven't checked it yet. Makes a bad flutter when cold and dramatic power loss. So I'll check that out but if I find a broken valve retainer or along those lines is it worth Rebuilding my lt1 heads? I'm in calgary area as well so davenport is my go to, but again Id just like a little advice from owners that have probably seen the same situation. Ps. I want an ls1 ws6😩

If the car is stock, I don't see a reason to go to LTCC. It is an upgrade, but that's up to you. A nice new, quality opti with a fresh tune up should do the job as far as that goes.

There is a brand new opti in it, lol the 2nd new one actually. Previous opti was an msd didn't even last 100k. This one is a cardone opti spark, (downgrade in my opinion) but Ya I want to do the ltcc upgrade. I don't want to have to replace the opti for the third time.

How's the performance of the Ltcc? Any noticable difference in the spark? Also what kind of wires and plugs did you use?

Your bitching about "only" getting 100,000 miles out of an opti?
