Default 323 vs 373

Hey got a 94 bolt-on Z28, come with 323's thinking about going 373's think it is worth it or spend the money else could use a set of drag radials. I am kept being told that 373's will be like a kick in the pants. I know i am going to have to get a tune, after for the speedo. I was thinking about going Motive gears hear they are the best and quiet.

Motives are the best. The 373's will give you a little kick in the *** over the 323's.

I presume the car is an automatic with 3.23 gears. If so, you might consider doing a torque converter first. Just food for thought.

^^ This, a higher stall converter will make it faster than the gear change.

With a stock converter, my car picked up a little over .2 in the 1/4 just from switching from 3.23 to 3.73 gears.

Whoops, I don't have signatures turned on in the mobile version.

I had a vig3200 in my old car, when it was on the stock motor it didn't pick up anything going from 2.73's to 3.73's on et streets. This was before I started paying attention to the DA at the track, so the weather could have been worse. Or my car was an analomaly.

Soon after I went with heads and cam, and then I really needed the shorter gears.

3.73 are definitely worth it. I went with Yukon gears.

You won't regret getting a 3.73 gear, but a tire will really show you the difference.

Decided to go all out over the coming winter i am going with the CC503 cam, 1.6 RR's, valvesprings, harden pushrods, sticking with the Motive 373's and than a tune. That should wake the car up hopefully.
