T-top car window gaskets - can you save them?
Hi All,
I'm starting to get leaks in heavy rain and I think it is time to consider replacing the window gaskets on my 97 SS. My question is - is there a way to save them if they are just getting dried out and less flexible as opposed to replacing them?
Otherwise, where is the best place to get them new? I fear a used set may be in just as bad shape. They aren't terrible, just starting down the path to being terrible.
Thanks!
Brian

There's not a whole lot you can do to save them, Armor All might help some, but it works better as a preservative to prevent damage, not fix it if the rubber gets dried out, hard and cracked.
The T-top door and roof frame rubber replacement is crazy expensive for NOS.....$800

Classic industries one has reproductions, also crazy expensive. I would not want to buy 20+ year old NOS rubber anyways as it could also be starting to dry out!

Acetone does wonders to soften rubber. Use it sparingly though. It will dry it out a bit though so follow that up with silicone grease (Armor All our something similar).
