I need help with an Le2 24x build Injector issue
I finally finished my le2 24x build and just started it. 1st I had a coolant leak from the crossover tube even though I had replaced the bolts, new gaskets, and torqued the bolts to 30 ft lb. So I cranked on it and that leak has seemed to have stopped. Then I noticed that a lot of fuel was leaking out of the #8 injector. These are used 30 lb red top bosch ev1 injectors that I got from my brother. Before I installed them I rebuilt them all with a kit that had everything including new o-rings. I ended up pulling out the injectors and replacing the o-rings with my stock o-rings that are thicker. It didn't change a thing. Still leaks. What else can I do besides buy new injectors? I did notice that when I took out my stock injectors the clips that hold them in the fuel rail won't fit the red tops. So I didn't use them. I did notice when plugging the injector harness in that the injectors will push down into the intake. Do I want them pushed down into the intake or pushed as tight as I can to the fuel rail? They really don't seem as tight as they should be.

+1 for having them more in the rail than intake.
I do find it odd that the injector clips don't fit. Are they fat like the stock injectors or the skinnier ones (like what came on stock 03-04 Cobras)? If they are skinny then you could probably have a machine shop cut a groove that would line up with the clips. I have seen it done without causing any problems with leaks or reliability.

They are fat like the stock ones. The groove that the clip fits in is not all the way around like the stock injectors so the clips won't fit. I just don't understand why only the #8 injector is leaking

I had no trouble with my stock clips holding my FMS 30# injectors.
Do you know if the #8 hole in the fuel rail perfectly smooth and undamaged? It might not be the o-ring or injector. Might be damage on the fuel rail.
interchange #8 and #6 injectors(or #8 with another injector that has no leaking issue). See if the problem moves. If not, the problem is your fuel rail.

#8 is sitting way too high (obviously). I couldn't get the clips onto my Delphi injectors and have never had a problem. When I plug them in, I just hold the injector body to keep it from shifting. I place mine so both O-rings are about even in both the rail and intake bores.

I didn't notice that. It is too high. Must be causing the o-ring not to seal in the rail. I gave such quick look at the picture that I didn't see that. Nice catch!

Make sure nothing is stuck in the intake hole. I have had some pintle caps stick inside of those before after taking injectors out. Another thing I do is dab some oil around the injector o rings to help install and seat them. The fuel rail bolts, when tightened have enough pressure to keep the injectors seated without the use of the factory clips.

I need help with an Le2 24x build Injector issue
So here's my problem now. As I was in the process of swapping a few of the injector I noticed that when I removed them 6 out of the 8 were missing O-rings, spacers, and pintle caps. They were all on when I installed them. I got a few of the O-rings and spacers out that were still stuck in the intake. The others had fallen down into the heads. I pulled my tb off and with a small hose and vacuum I got all the pieces out Except for 1 pintle cap! Could the valve just happen to be open for that 1 cylinder and the pintle cap be in there? How am I supposed to get this out/find it?

That's what I ended up doing. I got all of them out through the front of the intake except the last one. They had all fallen into the heads. The last one I got out with a small hose attached to the vacuum. I fed the hose down the #8 injector hole and it actually grabbed it. I really lucked out. I thought I was gonna have to pull the intake. As for the injectors. I talked to FIC and ordered a set of their blue devil 30 lbs. They still have EV1 connectors but with the newer style long body.

While I was under the car I noticed that the steam pipe bolt on the passenger side was leaking again. I already bought new bolts and washers from hawks. I torqued them to 30 ft lbs. The drivers side is fine, the pass side is the problem. Any suggestions? I already cranked down on the bolt and it's still leaking.

That's what I did to begin with. I bought a kit and rebuilt the injectors. The pintle caps were tight and clicked. Not sure how they decided to come off. I'm not even going to mess with them again. I have new ones that should be here tomorrow. Too bad I have to work 72 hrs starting tomorrow. I can't mess with the car again till Fri.

Do this....You can use -06 push-loc for it all if you want. I used SS braid because I have alot of it laying around.

I had a chance to stop at a parts store while I was working yesterday and picked up a couple of these
They are almost the same size as the stock washer/gasket. I might also add a thin layer of silicone. Before anyone asks, that is just the old stock bolt. I have new ones already.
