Default New $EE tuning tool!

Here's a beta version of my new $EE tool.

This simple program is a work in progress designed to aid tuning and diagnosing $EE based vehicles.

Features:

Non-destructive real-time parameter testing!
Add/subtract ignition timing in real-time while driving!
Disable individual cylinders by cutting their injectors
Automated cylinder strength test
Change idle target speed
Force air fuel ratio in open loop (not done yet)
Trimmed down heads-up display organized for tuning
Diverse data analysis (not done yet)

Many of these features are possible due to a special GM diagnostic routine. This is totally non-destructive, and all changes are lost when the program is closed or the car is restarted.

It's currently a work in progress, and in early beta stages, but it does work! It's super useful for driving-range timing table development, as you can have a buddy drive, try timing adjustments, watch MAP in real time, and notate what feels good and what doesn't. So much better than tweak flash tweak flash tweak flash.

Testing is required. If you'd like to help test it, please provide feedback.

this looks very cool, i use Scan9495 at the moment to help diagnose, but it doesn't have most of this functionality. I'll be jumping on this very soon

Any chance of developing an OBD2 version?
three things stopping me..

- i don't have any knowledge of the obd-ii protocol
- there's very little work done on disassembly of those bins
- i don't have an obd-ii car, so no motivations

tell you what, though, i'll look into it with the guy that wrote scan9495, as he knows a bit about those protocols. if they have a similar command set for actuator tests (which im unsure of) perhaps i can break it open a bit. but the lack of motivation is a big deal

Default New $EE tuning tool!

This is awesome. Are you working on live AFR adjusting too? That would make tuning these so much faster! The timing alone helps a lot for sure.

Also, can you elaborate on the cylinder strength test? What is that exactly?

the "your car may explode" warning on startup isn't going to encourage a lot of beta testing lol

I will be testing and sending you some feedback though

probably never, if i keep finding cool **** to add to it. im just doing this as a boredom project, it could take a while before it's polished.. but it does what i intended right now for a 'must have' goal - basic parameter display and timing skew.

the "your car may explode" warning on startup isn't going to encourage a lot of beta testing
this is so if someone jacks their timing up 15 degrees, the program bugs out, then they floor it, and they melt a hole in a piston, and they come yelling at me, i can tell them 'i warned you'. if testing stuff scares you, this is probably not a great toy for you. it's really new software. (but works in my tests)

it's actually working right now, but has issues due to how it interacts with block learn mode, will fix them before i post that update.

Awesome! I hope you get the AFR done, that would be a great tool to have on top of this.

0.6b:
Make welcome warning a bit more friendly
Optional hack-keep-alive packet at interval
Enable AFR override after some fixes, thanks kur4o!
Added a settings window, we'll need one
Add two timing skew range modes (for bumpy roads)
Hover over BLM cell for a reminder chart

Woot!

It'll be nice to run some native binaries, Been data logging and tuning using wine.

the source code is horrible in that release, i did a cleanup on it and will release it soon.

please report back if you can build it, and if not, please tell me what went wrong.

requires qt5+ with qtserialport extension and c++11 compliant compilier

need more testing!!!

just fyi, if you're a linux guy, this tool will read bins soon and flash the ecm a few months later.... code is already written just have to test THE HELL out of it before i brick someones ecm.
