Depends on where you live. The shorties are fine quality but AFAIK long tube headers are not legal anywhere... The hookers have ZERO provisions welded in for AIR tubes for your cats which in essence makes the air injection system non functional therefore illegal for most states. I'm in Cali and I know for damn sure it won't fly even to pass visual inspection.... Which is why i register my car out of state...

If you're concerned about emmissions get the shorty headers with an EO # (if your state requires one...)

If you need to pass emissions, I wouldn't do headers at all. Shorties don't warrant enough gain for the money, IMO. Save up your money for a nitrous kit.

i believe TPIS and Arizona speed and marine have emission legal midlength headers that offer good gains with the compromise.
Injuneer over on cz28.com has made upwards of 700hp on the engine dyno with those headers, and i believe Baxter went into the 9's with them also.

I had MAC shorties that had all emmissions hookups and were legal in cali and I went 11.40@122 with an otherwise stock motor on the bottle. I didn't even have a bigger throttle body. car was all bolt ons and a 150 shot.... on slicks.... Shorty headers aren't that bad but I have seen people with nitrous running great times even with the exhaust manifolds....

But if you really want headers i'd say check out MAC or Edelbrock....

jet-hot LT's have all the emissions stuff optional. I have those and i pass inspection fine, but i dont live in a strict area like CA or long island.
