Default jet hot sucks

Well finally got the headers in, went in pretty easy on the driver side from the bottom, had to jack up the motor a bit to slide them in the top from the passanger. got it all bolted finally, and the passanger side rests right on the k-member, im so frustrated right now after all that work, i just want to put the manifolds back on it and sell the damn thing.

should i call jet hot and see if i can get another set? not only did they not fit, the flange is not flat, or is there anything else i can do. someone said jack the motor back up and hammer at them, i dont really want to do that though.

anything?

Dont hammer on them.

If they are resting on the Kmember, your motor mounts are probebly shot or something, making the engine sit lower than it should.

This very well could be. I have had to move engines on the mounts to fit the headers.

Good luck!

Would the motor sag that much though? they are right up against the k-member and i have to push kinda hard to lift them off. doesnt the engine torque over towards that direction anyways? i wonder if i just got a crappy set.

I would bet on the motor mounts as well. There was a large visual difference between my 135k stock mounts and my ES poly mounts.

Go through one of the sponsors (I think I got mine from thunder or tbyrne). Get the poly mounts. As stated, when placed side by side, my stockers were pretty bad.

I agree, I've heard a lot of stories where the collector fit too close to the floor board (pacesetter) or the primaries rested on the kmember(jethot/hooker).

Poly motor mounts are only ~$50. I got prothane mounts for $50 from thunder racing.

As for your flanges not being true, I would get on their *** about that. Are you sure?

After reading this thread, my JetHots do about the same thing. What kind of mileage do most people see problems with "sagging" motor mounts (my car has 68,000 miles)? I am happy with the Jethots except some banging under the car which could be caused by my mounts.

I would jus send that one back. I have heard many people say it will really increase the chances of leaks down the road.

overtightening them will cause them to warp, dont do it.

i had a problem with my jet hots and they overnighted me a new drivers side header w/ no charge. seemed to be very helpful with their customer service.

Agreed! Todd in CusServ is excellent, sending my entire set back for recoating, my engine is blown anyway so might as well make use of the down time, if it's even the coating that's bad, looks bad to me. But they are replacing the #1 primary possibly which has always leaked on me, sucking 02 and running my driver side too rich, tried every sealant known to man I think, nothing works for over a week or so.
