The older these cars get the more of a pain in the *** it gets to work on them. I spent 2 hrs or so trying to get out one of the origonal bolts taking off my front LCA's this weekend.

I would try going to sears or somewhere and get some of those "bolt out" things. They are shaped to tear into the bolt while turning.

Other than that you might have to take the head off and take it to a machine shop.

Have you tried a good penetrating oil/solvent like PB blaster?
I would try PB blaster, a little heat and then the use a broken bolt/stud remover before pulling the head.

I have found this to work most of the time. Take a file, file the part that is stuck out into a flat shape so you can get a crescent wrench on it, and use some penetrating oil on it. I have gotten a few that were a pain out that way. It is chancy, cause you only have one shot at it, but I got it to work all the time.

The same thing happened to me this weekend while trying to gut my cats. I got half the bolts off no problem but the others broke putting them back in. I need to figure out w way to get them out since it is my dd and im basically running an open header right now.

Get the bolt out kit from Sears. Those things work wonders...

As for removing rusted bolts, you really need to prep them before you take them out. When I did my headers, (I know this is overkill) but I had my car in storage for the 4 months prior to doing my headers. once a week, I'd go over and spray PB blaster on the bolts. I would plan on at least spraying some good penetrating lube on the bolts before you mess with them> WD40 is not ideal at all. The key to removing them is to ensure you run the car before trying to do so. Let the car cool down enough to touch, and go at it..

Same thing happened to me, but I didnt even touch the bolts. One day I just started my car and I had a really bad exhaust leak. The only thing I can think of is that I bottmed out and it broke the two back bolts on the driver side. I ended up pulling the heads off and using an Easy Out.

If you had a welder that had an ounce of *****, then that should do it. Put a slightly over sized nut over the stud and then fill the gap with weld...dont be afraid to nuild some slag on there...

I was forced to pull the head when I did one awhile ago (no welder a the time).
