max lift stock short block?

I'm talking about piston to valve clearance. I will put the correct springs on the heads but the intake lift will be .602 and I don't want to smack pistons. I have heard the lt1 motor has a health valve relieve and could handle that much lift.

Bret is correct....you should be more concerned with duration since I assume you are using stock valves (or dont want to pull the heads).
Just as a very vauge reference.....I have run a 242 duration cam with right at .600" (112LSA) lift on a stock shortblock/stock head setup. I did run a thinner gasket (FelPro 1074/.039") and P to V was .095" on the intake valve.....I didnt feel comfortable pushing it any more than that since I prefer to have over .100-.110" clearance.

250/256 .630" or so on a 112. no problems with ptv clearance. I am also running a thinner head gasket. That being said, or typed rather, you should always check. i am also running a 2.0 1.56 valve setup.
