I can see the pic.

And I can't think of any parts in the motor that would shear that cleanly.

The part with the hole in it looks kinda like it might have come from the cam plate (that would have had no bolts in it), but it's too clean to have been spun and sheared off.

Me, I dunno.

I cannot think of one thing in a SBC that looks like those pictures. AS someone stated earlier it looks like pieces of the cam retainer plate but not sure there are too many pieces. I think I have blown up SBC every way that can be popped and even after bottom end grenades I have not seen any of those parts. The one chunk of aluminum looks like it could be part of a piston skirt or ring land but doubt it.

If you have a way to attach the pics, do that man. I am probably not the only one that can't see them, and probably could help out.

This looks like parts of the Timing Chain and one of the Gears to me. The Chain is stamped metal links in that shape, and that tooth probably came from the same spot. And second, it is directly in your oil pan, so that would explain how it got there.

Here is a pic of a LT1 Timing Chain. Look close, and you will see the parts that I am talking about. You got a problem on your hand if the Timing Chain is falling apart. If I was a betting man, I would bet on that....

you will need a 2 or 3 finger puller for removing the bottom spocket. And the timign chain does have axcess to the oil pan, so it is a possibility.
