hey i read in gmhtp mag that the ls1 cars got like 19hp with a new air lid....i hav the ram air hood and a stock air lid. i am getting a new one, will i see some good hp with the lt1??? its setup the same way as the ls1 ....

The LT1's do not have the same intake setup, and no LS1's do not gain that much power from a lid.

realy well it was an old artical but i just want that sound of it sucking in the air and some hp is always nice to have

You can put an intake on an LT1, it just isn't the same setup LS1's use. You will also gain power, but it will be more like 5-10.

wait hold on, you have an lt1, and you are doing a ram air hood with an ls1 style lid.

I get it now, yes, you will gain power, but its still just a cai, nothing earthshattering.

You have an LT1 car with a '98 up conversion and are running an LS1 air intake setup with a factory LS1 air lid?

I have exactly the same setup, my car appears to be an '01 T/A. I have the LS1 air intake setup and I run an SLP lid. I do believe you would pick up 10rwhp or so by switching. The stock LS1 lid is very restrictive.
