How would you build it?

your going to go through that 5k pretty quick...
9 inch rear end, t350 or 400 tranny and you will probably have enough left for a basicly stock motor.
then you still have the suspension to do.

Cool then h/c, suspension you should have some leftover to play with.

My LT1 has been down for a couple of years so i am driving it for a year then tearing it down to make it fun. Do some 10.5 racing.

exactly, as fun as it would be to havea 10 second car, i dont need or want the debt it would bring. I'm young and i can play with the big boys when i have a real job and am making serious money.

If you want to get in the 11`s quick and you do not want to spend to much why don`t you just strip the car inside for wheight loss, that would help the 1/4 mile time or?

if i had to do it over again i'd go all out of the suspension, make it as light as possiable, and see what i could get out of it with just bolt ons.
if you got the gearing right, and the right stall, you'd be in the 11s.
then throw some heads and a cam at it.

Well you can get the weight down alot, but it all depends on if you want your car to look gutted, or if you still like the interior and what not... 100 pounds is 1/10th of a second in the quarter mile...
