Default switched 12 volt source.

Where are you guys splicing in for a switched 12 volt source for things like gauges and what have you?

I use those nifty little add a circuit things since gauges don't really require anything over 10 amps...

Well I'll tell you guys what i all have to run... i have two gauges as of now... and then I need a switched 12 volt spot for the entire nitrous system (to keep it from arming when the key is not turned... this will pull a lot of current).

The bottle heater will have strait power (not switched..)

anyone have any tips?

umm no.. i am setting it up so the relays only arm when a switch is flipped... and thw switch will only have power (and therefor the capability to arm) when the key is turned...

I dont want the nitrous armed whenever i turn it on...

in that case I said use a relay that runs off a switched circut, yes you would want to put your arming switch in there, but the power source should be the switched circut so it can only be armed when the key is on, like you asked...

To answer your question, take a test light and you'll find a switched terminal in the fuse access. It's on the bottom ,believe the middle--then fuse it again and go to what you need -this will handle 15 amps.more needs a relay

You can ground it to one of the brake booster bolts with a round terminal.Just do a neat job and run a lil excess wire under the rug to help hold the wire or use zip ties etc.

Quick Reply: switched 12 volt source.
