Default PCV Delete?

How do I do this and where can I get a breather for the valve cover?
Thanks,
Jim

Don't you just remove the tube that goes to the TB and throw a breather on it? I'm sure they have breathers at like autozone or pepboys or speedshops.

that's not the PCV valve anyways. Just a fresh air vent hose that's not really a bad thing..

You're all suggesting that he create a vacuum leak? That's a bad idea.

If he doesn't block off the PCV valve (to-intake manifold), then he might as well leave the tube off the throttle body too, because that is creating a vacuum leak. The breather would allow UNmetered air to enter the crankcase, which would then get sucked back into the intake manifold via the PCV valve. The computer will not be adding fuel to account for this secondary (unmetered) air source.

If you absolutely must run a breather, disable the entire PCV system. That would include blocking off the 'inlet' hose from the throttle body to the passenger valvecover, as well as the PCV valve/hoses on the driver's side intake manifold. The exact procedure will vary depending on year (1992-1994 is different from 1995-1997).

Bad idea. The PCV valve relieves crankcase pressure. Crankcase pressure takes the path of least resistance. This means it'll either try to escape around the pistons in the form of additional blowby, or if it can't get through that way it'll come out through the breather. (If the engine gets revved high enough and builds up enough pressure, it can even blow out the dipstick tube.) Either way, you're gonna have oil in places you don't want it: either in the combustion path, or out of the breather and all over the top and side of your engine.

Keep the PCV.

Yea, definately keep the PCV. The one on the Valve Cover is just a secondary vent. I got a little stainless steel Vent Filter from Autozone, and put it on mine. Then I plugged the hole in the Throttle Body. Look at my Cardomain link to see it if you have any problems with it. The benefits of this that I can see is that hot air and Oil is now venting out, instead of going in that tube and into the incoming air, which will reduce power.

Yeah I did this mod. You can get APC push in breathers at Advance. Very ricer, but fits perfect.

Lol, ricer.. Whatever works in my book, half the stuff with working on cars if you want to modify something is going to be custom. I designed a CAI on mine, parts of it came from a '90 Olds Cutlass in the Junk Yard.
