Car Still Hot after Electric Water Pump
Okay guys I installed my CSR electric water pump and im not leaking any fluid and I bled all the air out of the cooling system. The car is still running hot though. It will get really hot then all of the sudden drop Way back down to like 170. It does that the first time then it will get way close to 260 then it just inches back up the the red. I know the pump isnt faulty because I tested it right when I installed it and it ran.
I wired it up with a relay and the trigger is the fans. Should I run my trigger from something else or maybe draw my power from something else? Do you think a 160* thermo would solve the problem

Could wire a relay off the line to the fuel pump. Makes for a good trigger. I plan on doing that, once I can get this stupid impeller out of the stock pump. Any tips? lol.

you're not going to see the full benefits of using a 160* T-stat without programming. Hence when they're mentioned hand in hand..
Check T-stat, and correct fan operation.

It's wired to be triggered by the fans? So when the car is moving the fans are off and water pump is off? I've used the air pump relay for powering my ewp, so it works with the ignition.

i wired mine to a switch that also turns on the starter, that way i cant forget to turn on my waterpump.
also if you tested th CSR make sure the impeller didnt come onscrewd a little.i had that happen to me when i used a csr and it finaly froze up on my in the stageing lane.its also a good idea to take a dremal to the inside of your waterpump housing to make sure the inpeler wont come into contact with anything bbecause if it does it will come onscrewd and blow a fuse

they dont come on until around 185 degrees, but even then the computer kind of screws up. I am trying to install a jet fan switch but no one seems to know how to install it and it didn't come with instructions.
EDIT: Yea I mean after the jet chip fan switch, which i dont know where the sensor goes.

Are you on a stock tune cause then your fans dont come on till like 230* that would explain the problem. I also have a csr electic pump its great and better than the stock. I have mine wired in a relay and then to the ignition so it comes before the motor is even on

Mine did the same thing even with a 160 degree thermo. I added a fan switch which helped it a little, but nothing was ever solved until I got a tune and had the fans switched on earlier. Then, it finally stayed cool all the time.
Basically, get a tune or use a hypertech to turn your fans on sooner.
