Took my car to the track today
My first time there with my camaro. This is with an SLP CAI, Flowmaster Muffler, Goodyear Eagle F1's, and a UMI PHB and I was foot brakin it to 1000 RPM at launch. I had no tire spin at all. It hooked great. I was hopin for a 13.9 but oh well. Next time. I ran four times total 14.394, 14.470, 14.359, 14.110. It took me a while to get use to the car. The first two passes I left it in 3rd but right before the end the rev limiter would kick in. I dont know why, i got a 2.73 gear? The 14.11 pass was with it in OD

First off, 2.73's are good topend gears, but have some weak spots.
Im not sticking up for 2.73's, I can't wait to go 3.42
Youre basically stock besides the Intake, the flowmaster muffler wont help at all.
I think you did pretty good though. Sounds like a healthy LT1
If you want better times, get a nice catback and stall. I knocked 3-4 tenths off my trap/time by getting an Moroso, Trickflow and Loudmouth.
If you really want to feel a difference, get a Stall.

you have a z28 right. You have 3.23s in it not 2.73s. Unless they switched them in 94 cause my brother has a z28 and has 3.23s stock from the factory and from what i have read the z28s have 3.23s and the v6 models came with the 2.73s.

Looks like his car wasn't ordered new with Z rated tires, he might have the speed limiter... and the rev limiter set a lower rpm.... I've seen cars that way with 2.73... for instance... my trans am.... 2.73s and my track times were close to his. Its the gearing that makes a difference.... a stall wouldn't hurt...

2.73 was standard on all Formulas/Trans Ams/Z28's, and the 3.23 was an upgradeable option.

I wasnt trying to say my times were fast. I know 14.11 is slow. Its got 130,000 miles too by the way. Just thought Id post them. It was fun and all but I wouldnt want to run it all the time. If I break it I dont have the money to fix it, lol. Im only 20 and I got a house payment. All the Speed Inc. guys were there too. Man they got some fast stuff. Ive never seen so many LS1 SS camaros in my life, lol.
My plans for the winter are...
-LT4 Hot Cam Kit
-Pacesetter LT's
-True Duals
-Put my T56 and 3.42 Rearend in
-I also got a spare motor with only 75,000 on it so im gonna put that in
-Tune
-M/T E.T. Streets
-Weight Reduction
Hoping for at least 12.90's-13.00's

many people say a car is running slow for the mods done but it seems as though they never take into consideration the persons altitude in which the car has run in from sea level to where i am is 2400' most days our track is 3000'+..on avg.my 14.2-13.86 would really be 13.80-13.4 at sea level i really feel for the people racing in Montana and Colorado
