You could probably pick up a cam and some 1.6 rockers for bout $400 if you know where to look. If i was about 3 month in the future i'd sell you both for about $200, with about 9k on them because i'm going to forced induction and i want a blower cam. I have the lt-4 hot cam kit in mine and it makes a damn good difference. Its not too expensive but its worth the cash it takes, IMO.

What trans do you have A4 or M6. If A4 a tanny kit is a must liek a trans go. I would then check what gears you have first if there good not "2.73" An LT4 hotcam kit runs about $525 from summit and some pacesetter LTs are 275$ have custome Y pipe made cheap if ya can. Or you could get a 3000k stall buy a comp cam cc306 and 1.6RRs, new springs, guides and pushrods if needed, some LTs, and get a "Really" good tune and you will make probably around 340RWHP with stock heads. Or If your a stick do the same set-up and save about $600 in not buying a stall and put 3.73s in the rear

I have an a4 in my car, and when the tranny went out, we had a shift kit installed. Whew, thats fun. I have stock gearing, and it will break the tires loose easily when it grabs second. I would love to put a set of 373's in it now.

A good tune will go a long way. If you do a few bolt ons, and find the right person to do the tune... you will pick up a good bit.
