Default OMG...Did I just ruin my new cylinder walls?

Just got the block back from the machine shop.

I used some POR15 metal ready on the block to clean it in preparation for paint.

It appears that this stuff lightly etches all surfaces and I have etched specs in the cylinder walls and decks. The cross hatch is still there but hard to see. You can barely feel the etching with the tips of your fingers.

What needs to be done to fix this. Can it be hand honed or does it have to go back to the shop.

If it were me, I'd run it.

I wiped the walls down wth WD40 and all the rough texture is gone and the cross hatch is clearly there. It just now looks like discolored specs on the walls and they dont appear to have any positive or negative depth.

It was mostly clean except for a few area where oil was present, mostly near machined surfaces. Machinist did nothing wrong, this was my oops.

Machinist said that if you can feel anything abnormal it should be good. He will also look at it. It appears to be something cosmetic at this point.

Right now after some more wiping there is nothing abnormal to the touch. Just small grayish specs.

Make a boat anchor huh, even the LS1 aint that damn almighty.
