Default 94-96 Caprice9C1/Impala 1/4 mile times?

I dont really know much about Caprices or LT1's but a buddy I go to school w/ has a 95 9C1 Caprice. It has a borla cat-back, K&N FIPK, Hypertech tuning thingy, some 1.6:1 Roller Rockers, 2500 RPM Stall TC. But it is stock heads and stock manifolds w/ cats. What do these cars typically run in the 1/4 mile and HP/TQ w/ small bolt ons such as this car w/full weight. I dont think he stands a chance against my bolt on Formula but was curious just for knowledge.

id bet its a mid-low 14 sec car,and if he did some headers and a cat delete with a real tune(not the hyper crap) it would be a mid-high 13 all day long

The Impala SS's I've seen at the track were running mid to high 15's. I think I saw one that was running 14.9 But thats the fastest one I've seen.

The wonderful Impala SS is basically a trim package on a Caprice, the closes thing to a performance upgrade it has is 3.08 vs. 2.93 gears but the wheels weight so much more it is a wash, the stock Impala rim and tire package is 60lbs per . Stock for stock a Caprice and Impala are equal. A 16 second slip out of an LT1 sedan would be horrible weather or a badly maintained car, that is what a 91-3 TBI car would run though.

Times will vary by weather and altitude but under reasonable conditions low to mid 15s is average with a few guys managing high 14s with stock cars in good weather.

The Hypercrap is a huge mistake and he needs valvesprings to make the rockers be worthwhile, still though mid 14s sounds about right.

Stock valvesprings suck.
Just wait, 3 years ago my best 1/4 mile time was 14.9, then the bug bit she goes a little quicker these days.
Last time at the track I went 12.7 at 109 on street tires with slicks and tools in the trunk. 12.1 later in the day once I had the slicks on and such. Still a driver too.
Best 60ft sofar is 1.614 which is taking it's toll on the ashtray, one of the slides broke from slamming open too hard.
Careful or this is the way you will be headed, you got a taste and will want more.

The very first time I went to the track with my dead stock 9C1, it went 14.92 at 94 mph. Since then I put K&N FIPK, Ultra Flow catback, 3.73s and PCM recalibration. It went 14.42 at 96 MPH with valves floating between upshifts. I've never lifted valve covers off my LT1 and it still has stock exhaust manifold. Most stock 9C1s are doing between 14.90s-15.30s.
