Having done it once I wouldnt do it again without unmounting the motor. (i wouldnt even try slipping them in) So many people try to wedge the things in there and mar the coating all up in the process, when in reality its only an extra half hour of work MAX to unmount and remount one side of the engine. It makes the install so much easier.

Check ebay for the EGR block off plates.

My Jet Hot LT's required jacking the motor, but funny story, when I pulled the headers I hit the magic angle where they basically fell out

I have done several LS1 LT installs and 3 LT1 shorty header installs (one on my old Y-body) autos and M6s. On some of them I could jack the motor up just a bit with the motor mount still bolted on. Others I have had to take the motor mounts loose and jack up the motor.

as long as you drop the starter, drain the oil and take off the filter and take off the alternator and steering knuckel( take off both bolts and slide it upwards and pull the bottom off then pull the top off)it shouldnt be that bad. what brand of long tubes did he get.

The Oil Filter wasn't in the way when I did them on mine. I'm just sayin that to save you some time, but if you want to, change the Oil while you are there..
