Default Valve cover question

Ok to may this may be a stupid question, but where can I get some valve covers that are tall enough to clear roller rockers and have the alternator notch so I don't have to mess with the factory alternator setup and I did try to do a search on this before asking and could not find any info....Thanks in advance for any help.........MM

Canton Racing makes a nice fabricated aluminum set, but they're pricey, like $220 if I remember correctly.

what RR ratio? from what I've read on here, most 1.6's will clear stockers with a little modding/cutting of the "webbing" on the underside. Then again, the LT4 composite covers were made for the LT4s which had 1.6's so they are another option. I personally dont have any RR experiences yet.
----------------------------------------------------------------
in case your wanting part numbers :
LT4 valve cover, LH = 12552321
LT4 valve cover, RH = 12552322
LT4 valve cover gasket = 10108625
LT4 valve cover mounting nut = 10108675
LT4 valve cover mounting stud = 10108674
LT4 valve cover mounting stud grommet = 10108626
LT4 valve cover PCV grommet = 10240678
LT4 valve cover oil cap = 12555685

If you get the narrow body rockers you can still run factory centerbolt valvecovers.

I have seen some on evil-bay that are reasonable...new raised aluminum covers with the front notch for the alt.

im guessing stock but you could always call or email them

"These valve covers are a stock replacement for '93-'97 F-Bodies."
stock replacement means stock gaskets I'd think

^^^ very true. Although laziness got the best of me here and I was just curious. I have the LT4 composites and dont plan on switching, just thought it might be benificial to the thread incase someone wants to go with the cantons to know what gaskets to get as well. Then again, they could just ask canton when they order them bitches so... oh well....

Pro Mags (wide body RRs) will fit just fine under stock covers.

I've got a set of GMPP 1.5s under the stock covers without any modifications. However, it was my original intention to use a set of ARP "perma lock" adjusting nuts, and they're a little too tall to fit under the stock covers. Therefore, I'm in the process of notching one of the Proform cast aluminum covers.

Stockers clear my Comp alum. 1.6 RR's... The ebay polished ones rubbed the front and rear rocker tip. I got a set of polished ones that were not notched and they rubbed as well. But I liked them so I took out the grinder and went to shaving for more clearance. Now, as long as I make sure to push them toward the intake when tightening them down, they do not make contact.

I'm running GMPP 1.6 LT4 Roller Rockers and I don't have any issues under the factory valve covers. I love the look of the cantons -- I'd love to get them powdercoated black.
