Default 1990 5.0 vert vs stock 240sx funny

a friend of mine has a bone stock 93 240 with the muffler cutoff. no mods. It is the coupe car, so it is the lightest body 240. Ive been trying to get him to race a stock auto vert mustang. Well a 5.0 rolled up, it had an intake and exhaust. The raced from a 20 roll, and even though the 5.0 got a jump the 240 pulled over a car by 70. It was funny. 5 Minutes earlier he was making fun of japanese turbo cars, saying he bought the 5.0 to smoke these little jap burners. Well he got smoke by a stock non turbo 240. He didnt even come back to the carwash we met at, he just kept going.

Weird that the 5.0 lost.

I see your from Bowling Green. I visit my dad and relatives in Campbellsville. You guys still rivals? Seems like they butt heads.

Hmm I would have thought the 5.0 would have taken him too. Being a convert and and auto didn't help but I still would have thought the stang to have the advantage.

I've seen a 240 hatchback run an 8.25 in the 1/8 and I even think he got out of it before he trapped. What's sad to me is he'd break my back in a race ( in the 1/8 anyway) and I got twice the motor. It's the only fast rice burner I've seen in these parts and it was sleeper ( no wing, stock wheels, paint was little faded, and the fart can was'nt even loud).

I hate to break your heart, but there's no way a stock 240 runs 8.25..I used to own one, so I know for a fact. He was probably turbo..There's one here that runs 8.50s and he's got a turbo and that's it, which is decent, but nothing to brag about. I'll kill him in my bolt on LT1.

Dude, I ran a modded convertible 5.0(exhuast, CAI, etc) in my bone stock '02 2500 from his roll(40mph) where I'd be in 2nd gear. He got the jump and he couldn't even put a full carlength on me. I asked for a more appropriate roll, like 20-30, where I'd be in 1st and he declined. I could've beaten the same car in a 6000 lb truck. And pulling a little over a car isn't getting "smoked"..."Smoked" is buslengths...

I've never heard anything about a fast 240 until I saw that one,I understand anyone having doubts but it's TRUE. I don't know if was I was impressed or just struck stupid when I saw the E.T on the board. I'm pretty sure it was'nt turbo and I don't have a clue what the guy has done to it (first time I ever saw it)but it was just a plain looking 240 hatchback(red). I'm assuming he lives here in South Carolina which is even more confusing cuz you don't hear about fast ricers here just fart cans, triple wings w/ cheese, decals fukt up paint jobs and rims. Like you said it's not anything to brag about but me I can respect THAT E.T. in THAT car. Oh I did'nt say it was stock there is no way it was stock ,but I think some F-bodies would be suprised by this car in a street race and most stangs would get **** on.

I like them alot...You still keep the low end of shorties, but have decent high end like long tubes. In other words, you get the best of both worlds. I'd recommend them to anyone with a bolt on LT1.
