Default Why is there coolant coming out of the top of the reservoir?

It's probably not even adequately filled.

I'd say it could be a bad head gasket.

I have a bad headgasket on my 96 olds and coolant comes out of the reservoir but it's not the same setup as the LT1 setup.

It's because of exhaust gasses leaking into the cooling system and building up pressure which pushes coolant out.

Could be a bad thermostat? I'll try another radiator cap.

Could be a thermostat if it's overheating which could cause coolant loss, but you'd obviously know if it was overheating.

It's not coming out of the radiator cap? It's coming out of the reservoir?

Well, there's not adequate coolant in the system anyway.

mine would do that in the summer or if it got over 210 and was shut off. the coolant would start boiling after the car was shut off, im assuming from heat soak. i would flush the old coolant out and make sure you get all the air out of the lines then go from there.
