the only way to find out is to race. i don't have intake or exhaust yet, but speaking from my experiences with ls1s, i would say that he's gonna top you out. but you can try to turn things in your favor, like, setting the speeds of the race. like say... 40-100mph. even so, when i race ls's i end up getting passed at about 85mph from those speeds. how do your ETs look? good luck

LS1>LT1 Even though some people think you will pull him out of the hole I beg to differ. Their is a reason people run autos they launch hard without spinning and they don't mis shift. My .02, but I hope you win I love watching lt1's spank some ls1 ***!!

it all comes down to driver skill i'm sure. if you're a good driver i think it'd be pretty even... but if not i think you'd get edged out. you definitely have a chance, but i wouldn't put money on it if i were you.

I think, if you can shift well, you might be able to hold him off until about 90-110. If you race from a roll, start in 2nd and slip the clutch.
I miss my old manual but if you don't know how to row gears it could be bad. His disadvantage is from a roll. From a dig, its even.
Either way, the race is a driver mod and the LS1 is going to eventually get you up top, its just how long you can hold him for.
headers and an aftermarket exhaust, is a full exhaust... correct?

i'll put 100 bucks down saying the other guy will claim victory. Here's a thread I posted up and it's pretty close to this situation. the only difference is that the LS1 i went up against was an M6 WS6. he still edged me out tho with my few mods.

edit: haha i just realized i was being kinda rude there. sorry. i'm not saying you're slow or a bad driver or anything. the LS1s just really are a beast and are quite superior over an LT1. in order to really edge out an LS1 you'll need more than supporting mods. you'll need some internal work done as well.

that was a nice job rowing the gears. You didn't lose rpm by taking to long so you pulled on him all the way. The LS1s have NOTHING in the bottom end but are MEAN up top. Thats the only advantage of having an LT1.
To the guy racing, you should be even with him if you have the full exhaust and headers, but make sure you check his **** out before you race if your going for money or bragging rights. He may be running something more than stock and you'll never know unless you check it out first. Do not take to long in getting your gears neither. If you do you'll lose rpm and step lower in your powerband.
