Default Magnaflow muffler

HI Guys,

I just installed a new magnaflow 3 inlet 2 1/2 outlets. THe funny thing is that it is way, way quiter than the flowmaster 80 series I was running..it almost makes it sound tame...compared to the flowmaster...the reason I switched to the magnaflow was because I was told by my tuner I was probably losing 20 horse running that flowmaster instead of a magnaflow, hooker or borla muffler.
Magnaflow claims a straight through no chamber, no baffles no restriction. Why so quiet????? Anybody else experienced the same thing I did?

Yes I had the exact same impressions with the magnaflow. It is a nice mellow rumble with minimal popping. Obnoxious exhaust are great for a month and then they annoying, with the magnaflow I never get tired of listing to it, whether at 1k or 5k.

As far as power, with the mods mentioned in my sig it really woke the car up and for the price I definitely feel i got my bang for the buck.

Yes I experienced the same thing. I have the Mufflex 3 1/2" catback system on my 1989 TransAm with a 3 1/2" Magnaflow muffler. One in one out. Very quiet while cruising around until you nail it. I love it.

yep same here. I had a Dynomax Ultra flow and it was louder but was shitty sounding at WOT and popped alot. Got my Magnaflow and almost didn't like the idle but when i hit 2k RPM's and up i get WOOD. And it's nice rumble at cruise. Nothing but happy feeling's for the Magnaflow

Magnaflow= the benefits of nitrous built into an exhaust system.

It's there when you want it, not when you don't.

Love my magnaflow. Not annoying loud cruising or idling, but lots of bark when you squeeze on it.

Cool...do ya'll think my tuner was right...that it will make more hp than a flowmaster? He swore that the flowmaster was restrictive?? MM

i miss my flowmaster. probably not better flowing than my magnaflow 3inch catback but way meaner sounding. i would have loved to hear my new cam through the flowmaster it would have been so choppy.

I have a feeling the Magna is close to the SLP loudmouth stuck in a basically stock exhaust. I love how mine sounds (SLP) and would listen to recordings of it to fall asleep if I could All in all, glad you like it. Beeing iffy and going from one thing to another, and liking it, is such a good feeling.
