Loyd Elliot @ elliot port works

its my daily driver, so im not looking for anything crazy (and also looking for something between 1000-1500 bucks.. an le1 is like 1200 bucks for about 380 to the wheels, so something comprable or better than that)

well AI is definitely on the list for researching now (after lookin through their site).. haha...

anyone else?

I am happy with PortPros www.portpros.com

Does some of the best work. Period.

There have been many threads about this topic. Search about these companies and give each a call. Then decide.

That is pretty cheap price wise. Does that include the whole valvetrain or just the cam? How about the tune?

tony, ill check it out, but im not looking for anything crazy like your car

that would be partial valvetrain, i guess (valve and springs and whatnot, but not pushrods or rockers), and not the tune

so it looks like port pros is the cheapest, but it is for heads only, and apparently their site doesnt actually have a "valve train" area (even though they direct you to it if you have questions..), and i really respect your opinion, tony, just based on your reputation...

how are they with helping select cam and whatnot?

also, has anyone else had good/bad experiences with any of these companies? or any other companies?

I thought those prices included springs. Give Harold (@portpros) a call and he can let you know. Harold has teamed up with Comp Cams and together they do a great job at cam selection. Look at the credentials of each company of where they learned their trade. All the ones mentioned are good companies. Choose the one you are comfortable with.

Im extremely happy with my stuff from PortPros. Harold built my entire engine. Actually, Im going to be having Harold set me up with a new custom grind cam. Eventually he'll be doing a single plane Vic-E intake as well, just gotta save some more money

Give Harold a call and you'll be convinced, at least I was. I called everybody I could think of before deciding to go with Port Pros for my engine. He just seemed to be the most knowledgible and had answers to any questions right away. The man knows his ****, and is a great guy to work with.
