The HOT cam needs to rev beyond 5800. What is your definition of "bigger".

If you only want to rev to 5800 get the crane 227 cam, anything bigger will be a waste and slow down your car, even the hotcam revs past that. JFYI the fastest cam only LT1 ran the crane 227 cam for the longest time until he put a custom cam in.

Anywhere that sells Crane cams. The duration is 210/224 compred to the HOT cam's 218/228 so it is "smaller" but if you want to keep revs that low will perform better.

You'll need new valvesprings, retainers, gaskets, and might as well change valveseals while your there. And timing chain as you mentioned.

On the timing chain a new stock chain is usually fine on the used gears. Don't buy into all the stupidity you see here about needing a stronger timing chain, the stocker is not failure prone. I am aware of one single one breaking due to no outside cause. Seeing as I have been playin with this car for 7 years and am active on 4 boards that at least have BIG LT1 sections like this the fact I have only read about one means it is a very good piece.

Lingenfelter has a 211/219 cam with a little more lift, and yeah I think those would be good considerations as well.
I think more people should be using these "baby" cams, they really do perform well.
