oil question

I would say the first fill change the oil early at like 1000 miles instead of at 3000+ as should be normal. Some synthetic have stronger cleaning abilities and as they wash stuff free it will contaminate the oil and begin to fill the filter. Might even consider a filter change at 500 miles using inexpensive filters.
One time when I switched to a high detergent oil after a few hundred miles the valvetrain became rattly a filter change quieted it. My guess was the filter was getting restricted because it was filtering out all the cleaned up materials. The motor had not been neglected beforehand either. In hindsight wish I had cut open that filter to know for sure.
While on the oil change interval subject please don't feel that the 3000 mile rule is a good one, that is FAR shorter than what even the owners manual recommended for even the non-synthetic oils from a decade ago. Most guys who test their oil find that even with some spirited use 5000 is no problem exceptions would be dirty or constant short trip use.

I dont see any problems, except it might clean up deposits which have collected in the mating surfaces of the engine, which can cause oil leaks. That is it.
Synthetic oil is good stuff. It far outperforms regular oil in every department. I say go for it. A slight leak is worth the benefits of the better protection from the better oil

I have never found anyone that said that complained of anything other than the price diffrence, usually you get better MPG and maybe better proformance, it depends on what brand you use

IMO don't bother with synthetic unless you and your usage are willing to allow something closer to 5K miles. Yes synthetic can be better but the biggest advantage they have in street use is longevity, if you are not willing to let it shine there don't spend the extra coin.
